In the fast-paced and complex world of legal technology, Meagan Bloom understands the importance of a great client experience. As Director of Client Experience at Pattern Data, Meagan is key in ensuring the company’s AI-driven solutions meet the client’s needs. With more than a decade of experience in client engagement and operations, Meagan’s leadership helps Pattern Data support legal professionals in the mass tort space.

In this article, Meagan shares more about her background and approach to client services, which are shaping the future of legal technology at Pattern Data.

A Career Rooted in Client Advocacy

My journey in the Mass Tort space began in operational roles at Garretson Resolution Group. There, I quickly saw the numerous steps and processes required to reach key milestones and advance settlements. This industry is highly specialized, with nuances that make it interesting and challenging. However, it is for these reasons that generic software falls short. I joined Pattern Data because I saw an opportunity to streamline these processes while providing greater transparency to all parties involved—enabling more informed decisions. Having worked with Matt Francis and James Nix before, I knew they deeply understood this space's needs and challenges and were strongly committed to delivering a high-quality product.

When I first joined Pattern Data, I was the sole client service manager, so my role has evolved significantly. Over the past few years, our team and product offerings have expanded. I believe this growth reflects the valuable feedback from clients about the challenges they face and how we can enhance their overall experience.

Navigating the Complexities of Mass Torts

AI has faced its share of scrutiny, and rightfully so. However, our company is committed to using it responsibly to deliver accurate results and lessen the burden on reviewers. Human review remains crucial—you can't replace the expertise and judgment a medical reviewer with ten years of experience brings to a case. However, AI can significantly reduce the number of pages they need to sift through and minimize the tedious manual entry required to capture key information.

The data collected from these records can then be transformed into actionable insights tailored to the specific litigation. One of the biggest challenges is the volume of information gathered from various sources and the critical data stored in documents. Based on allocation methodologies, our litigation setups offer clear visibility into how each case aligns with the settlement grid. We provide calculations to determine eligibility at both the inventory and individual case levels, empowering you to take informed actions. Knowing what information is available and what is missing is crucial to advancing your inventory, and our calculations and reporting provide that necessary clarity. When it's time to submit, we generate a comprehensive packet with all relevant details, ready to be shared with other parties.

Empowering Women in Legal Tech

As the first woman hired at Pattern Data, I've continued to advocate hiring even more talented women. Today, we have a 50/50 gender split across the company. I believe it's our responsibility to create an environment where women can thrive, and companies like Pattern Data will play a key role in supporting that evolution by championing inclusion.

Looking Ahead: Enhancing Client Engagement at Pattern Data

I aim to expand our product offerings further to enhance client engagement at Pattern Data. Our platform should provide a clear plan of action, allowing clients to track the progress of their inventory easily. Some of our best features have originated from direct client feedback. It’s essential that we maintain a constant feedback loop to ensure we deliver a product that is both useful and effective.

My advice to women aspiring to leadership roles in legal tech, especially those focused on client experience, is to stay curious, remain adaptable, and never underestimate the power of building strong relationships.

What Drives Me

Every day, I’m motivated by our impact at Pattern Data and a team that strives to produce cutting-edge results. The work we do in the mass tort space is high-stakes, and the needs of our clients are often complex and urgent. Knowing that we’re helping legal professionals navigate these challenges and achieve successful outcomes is incredibly rewarding. My approach to client experience is simple: listen, adapt, and deliver. By staying true to these principles, I aim to ensure that Pattern Data continues to lead the way in legal tech by providing our clients with the tools and insights they need to thrive in a data-driven world.

Outside of work, I’m an avid reader and enjoy spending time outdoors. I always have a trip on the horizon, whether a weekend getaway to explore a new city or national park. My latest adventure took me to the Azores in Portugal, where I enjoyed a great book, stunning hikes, and a fun place to explore.
